The Gites de France has a rating system whereby between 1 to 5 ears of corn are awarded depending on the facilities available and quality of accommodation.

There are many benefits to holidaying in a Gite or a Chambre d’Hotes such as the fact you have own space and true freedom – get away from it all! You can arrange your own transport and so be flexible with dates, no fixed meal times, no need to dress for dinner and you can really do things at your own pace. This type of accommodation is usually closer to the countryside and the ‘real France’.
